Unfortunately there many people out there so greedy that they forget to live, enjoy and be happy in their life!
This story will make us all think of the things that are basically important to our life...and money may be the mean to live a good life but not the goal!

Some people want to hold on to their money more than they do relationships. The husband in this story is one of those people. Throughout his life, he worked hard and saved all his money. He loved his money so much that he wanted to continue to hold onto it even after he was gone and requested that his wife bury him with all his money.
He made her promise that she would honor his dying wish, and being a good Christian woman, she remained true to her word.

On the day the man was laid to rest, the widow dressed in black and watched her husband’s body stretched out in the coffin as her best friend sat beside her for support.
Before the casket was closed, she placed a shoebox containing all of her deceased husband’s money beside him.

“Her friend said, ‘I hope you weren’t crazy enough to put all that money in there with that stingy old man.’
She said, ‘Yes, I promised. I’m a good Christian, I can’t lie. I promised him that I was to put that money in that casket with him.’
‘You mean to tell me you put every cent of his money in the casket with him?’
‘I sure did,’ said the wife. ‘I got it all together, put it into my account and I wrote him a check.’ ”

I can't imagine what this woman might have been through during her marriage...However the fact that she is about to have a great life and cherish every penny she "earned" makes me realize that life is too short for those who don't appreciate it and long enough for those who know how to live every second of it!
