He's Bullied But He Is Much More Courageous Than All His Bullies!

Bullying is a serious epidemic around the world. There are many teens across the country, who wake up every morning scared to go to school. So why is that? It’s because of bullying that has become a full-blown epidemic that affects millions of kids. The impact of this constant bullying can leave scars on a child's psyche that are slow to heal and linger well into old age!

The following video is a scene from the documentary Happy. You’re about to meet comedian and youth counselor Michael Pritchard, who gives a powerful presentation to the students at Benicia Middle School in California. He’s able to instantly connect with the students, making them laugh and capturing their attention like no other.

The fact that he was able to encourage kids to stand up in front of their entire class and speak out about being bullied is simply amazing. Their bullies were probably sitting in the stands, too.

Michael Pritchard is a stand-up comedian, youth counselor, and advocate of social emotional learning. He speaks to schools, parent groups, and corporations on the topics of communication skills, diversity, bullying, and conflict resolution.

Happy is a 2011 feature documentary film directed, written, and co-produced by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Roko Belic. It explores human happiness through interviews with people from all walks of life in 14 different countries, weaving in the newest findings of positive psychology.

It takes an amazing amount of courage for a person, especially a young person, to admit that they have been the victim of bullying. Even adults who have put their negative bullying experiences in the rear view straggle to talk about it! The young man in this video should not only touch your heart, but also make you realize that bullying is a serious issue!

He cannot control his height but what can be controlled is the other children's reaction to his size!

Watching him break down and cry in a public forum is a reminder to all of us that even the most innocuous comments can have a strong effect on a person.

Helping a child learn how to love and accept their peers, even those who are different, is the greatest gift we can give!
