Time is the best medicine! When it comes to love stories with a "bad" ending...only time can cure your wounds and probably can make you look at the past with a smile! This story touched me so deeply and I am sure it will touch some of you too! Having shared strong feelings with a person and life turned you into strangers, being able to see that person again after decades would reveal to you how you can handle past and situations...
Artist Marina Abramovic was doing a live art performance that consisted of spending one minute of silence with a complete stranger. Many people showed up, but her response to one person in particular gave me the goosebumps, and you’ll soon see why.
Long story short, “Marina Abromovic and Ulay started an intense love story in the 70s, performing art out of the van they lived in. When they felt the relationship had run its course, they decided to walk the Great Wall of China, each from one end, meeting for one last big hug in the middle and never seeing each other again.
At her 2010 MoMa retrospective Marina performed ‘The Artist Is Present’ as part of the show, where she shared a minute of silence with each stranger who sat in front of her. Ulay arrived without her knowing...
I think almost all of us can relate to it in that heartbreaking joy-sadness-longing kind of way!
It is simply beautiful.
