Personally I haven't been in circus before! As a child I was afraid of it, as an adult I couldn't find any excuse for being in a place where animals were obliged to do tricks for my entertainment!
Wild animals, such as lions, bears, elephants, and giraffes, will no longer have to endure extensive travel or life in cramped, poorly-laid-out enclosures for the sole purpose of entertaining humans.
Wilde Dieren de Tent Uit, the association of Dutch animal welfare organizations, has fought for this ban since 2006. The association is now offering to help circuses find new, species-appropriate homes for the animals. I can't imagine how these animals will react to this new future!
In a world that everything develops and changes so fast it was about time to realize that this kind of entertainment was at least obsolete!
