A Balloon Which Has Reached The Space And Returned!

An epic route!

You've probably seen many images from outer space via internet or TV. This one however it is quite different! It has a unique story that goes back in 2013. What are the chances to find a small and pretty destroyed box in Arizona? Close to zero? Well just before zero there was a hiker who tracked it and revealed an amazing story!

It was in the summer of 2013 when a group of students after a lot of research managed to send a balloon to the edge of space over the Grand Canyon. Despite having planned out the detailed launch, and anticipating where it would eventually land, they were never able to find and recover the craft and the camera or cell phone attached to it.

As they have long forgotten their lost project a hiker who noticed something strange on the ground returned the footage to the team who launched it, after two years!

Thankfully, the team could successfully recover all the data and the incredible video and the stunning images that it captured along its epic journey into the stratosphere and back down are in this awe-inspiring footage!

As they explained the reason why it was lost, was because there was no cell phone coverage in the area it landed, which the students were relying on to track it down. However the hiker who found the wreckage ironically worked at AT&T and she saved the whole project, as she brought it to a company store and they identified the phones SIM card and tracked down the owner to send back the footage!

It is really remarkable when young people use their brain skills for this kind of projects! Paraphrasing a bit the famous quote from "The Alchemist" ...all the universe conspired in helping them to "find" it!
