Canadian artist Robert Gonsalves makes incredible mind-bending painting that bend your mind!

More than the beautiful imagery and technique that has clearly gone into each painting, the effect which is akin to an optical illusion gives the artist the unique opportunity to portray multiple, connected stories in a single frame.

One image melts into another and comes back again full circle, playing with our minds by creating irrational dream worlds!

During his childhood, Gonsalves developed an interest in drawing from imagination using various media. By the age of twelve, his awareness of architecture grew as he learned perspective techniques and he began to create his first paintings and renderings of imagined buildings.

After an introduction to artists Dalí and Tanguy, Gonsalves began his first surrealist paintings. The “Magic Realism” approach of Magritte along with the precise perspective illusions of Escher came to be influences in his future work…Resulting in these amazing paintings.

Maybe this is how children see the world until they are trained otherwise. No words express the beauty contained herein. I am completely in AWE and absolutely enjoyed art for a change!
