If you had one wish that would absolutely come true, what would you wish for? Would you wish for wealth beyond your wildest imagination? Would you want a new house or a fancy car? Would you try to go the cliché "wish for more wishes" route?
The beginning of this social experiment is pretty typical. Two strangers sit separated from each other by a wall. Neither knows who is on the other side.
They are each posed two questions, one after the other. "If you could have one wish, what would it be?" and "What makes you happy?"
The people sitting on the right hand side answer as most of us would. They have grandiose and often selfish desires...Until they hear the responses of their invisible partners, sitting at the wall, they suddenly thought, and even were shocked!
Their beautiful outlook on life is something we all should appreciate. It is important to understand other people’s perspectives and to encompass those standpoints with your own. To reach for the stars yes… but to understand and value your current situation whole-heartedly.
The point of this piece is not to make you feel bad for what you have or to pity those that are dealing with issue. It is to help you appreciate the little things. To stop and smell the roses, take in the sunset and to tell the people you care about how much they mean to you. It is important to see the good in every situation and to have faith that it is there.
