A Global Choir And Band That Would Make Your Day...Start Singing!

When it comes to music distances disappear and everyone can join this happy union!

“Sittin’ On The Dock Of The Bay” by Otis Redding is one of those songs loved by people from every generation and all across the world. The song’s timeless melody and message will truly go on forever…there’s no denying this song is a wonderful classic! As you can see in the following video, it is also a song with the ability to unite people from all across the globe…and it can give great hope for a better future.

From street performers to well-known singer/songwriters, this global music project came together for an organization called “Playing For Change.” Its mission was to unite musicians from all different backgrounds across the globe. Renowned musicians joined street musicians to show that we are all one people. The message of the song is so much deeper than its lyrics and it takes on a whole new meaning in this powerful video.
Mark once asked Roger the question: with a voice as powerful as his, why was he singing on the streets? He replied, “I am in the joy business. I come out here to be with the people.” Roger and Grandpa have brought so much joy to the lives of millions, and in this song we are blessed to see them reunited again. We all shine on, and Roger’s light is as bright as the sun!!

An ongoing multimedia project, Playing for Change was created in 2004 by producer/engineers Mark Johnson and Enzo Buono. Hoping to break down musical and social barriers and promote a peaceful world-view, the duo traveled around the globe recording street musicians playing the same songs with the idea of creating a pastiche of the recordings. The project's first single, a cover of Ben E. King's classic "Stand by Me," featuring the Santa Monica street performer Roger Ridley!
