Snake Vs Centipede...Who ate Whom? Mind-Blowing!

We've all experienced a meal that we've wished we hadn't eaten, but a snake in Macedonia paid the ultimate price when a centipede it had eaten made a bid for freedom by trying to eat its way out of the snake's stomach, researchers reported.
Last year, a group of scientists in Macedonia made a gruesome discovery on the island of Golem Grad. The 44-acre Golem Grad is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including hundreds of nose-horned vipers. The researchers were conducting a field study of the local wildlife, when they found something terrifying.

This juvenile snake will never get to regale his slithery friends with his tales of his impressive eating accomplishments after picking a fight with the wrong creature.
Vipera ammodytes often preys on animals larger than itself. In this case, an eight-inch long female nose-horned viper tried to prey on a centipede measuring six inches in length. The centipede weighed more than the snake, however, weighing its opponent by 0.03 ounces.
A dissection revealed that the snake's visceral organs were missing, or in other words, "the entire volume of its body was occupied by the centipede," the scientists wrote. For this reason, the researchers think it's possible the snake's dinner tried to claw its way out, destroying the viper's internal organs along the way, before eventually dying.
Nose-horned vipers, also known as sand vipers, are a venomous species common in southern Europe and the Balkans.
Its highly toxic venom makes it one of the most dangerous snakes in Europe -- although that was of little help to the unfortunate example choosing a centipede for what became its final meal.
This is why I always liked more the city than the countryside...I prefer less oxygen and trees than have to deal with these "cute" creatures out there! Oh...and the result...they both were eaten and lost the battle! This is nature and its rules!
