Take A Look Of Some Dreamy Waters On Earth!

Makes you wanna dive!

The shorter and darker the days in the Northeast, the greater the lure of warm white sand beaches fringed with palm trees and topped with bright blue skies.
With summer just around the corner here are some amazingly blue waters that will make want to pack a suitcase immediately!

If you plan to travel anytime soon, here are 12 of the clearest oceans and seas you can swim in around the world.

1. Exuma, Bahamas

The Bahamas is made up of 360 islands in total, each one has amazingly crystal clear waters.

2. Algarve, Portugal

The southernmost region of Portugal’s mainland has some of the clearest water on the planet.

3. Sabah, Malaysia

There are 13 different states within Malaysia, including Sabah. You can find this destination near the island of Borneo in the northern half of the country.

4. Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil

Thanks to the natural limestone this water passes through, it becomes ultra purified into a bright shade of blue.

5. Nylon Pool, Tobago

Shallow clear waters waft over this white sand coral pool situated in Tobago, just off Pigeon Point.

6. Mauritius

Mauritius is located in the southwest Indian Ocean, on the southeast coast of Africa.

7. Bodrum, Turkey

Located in southwestern Aegean Region of Turkey, the boats here look like they are floating in mid-air the waters are so clear.

8. Cala Macarelleta, Menorca

One of 5 different islands that make up the Bakearic Islands. Known as one of the least populated beaches in all of Spain, you must take a boat or treck it by foot to reach this gorgeous, nearly private island.

9. Maldives Islands

The 26 atolls that make up the Maldives Island are located off of the Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea. Here you can witness plenty of gorgeous coral reef wildlife, like whale sharks.

10. To Sua Ocean Trench, Upolu, Samoa

Situated in the Samoa village of Lotofaga, this natural swimming hole was formed from the blast of a shield volcano.

11. Wakatobi, Indonesia

A popular dive spot in Indonesia, the waters here are incredibly clear offering a peaceful tranquility found in few other places. Pampering resorts, wildlife, and the Wakatobi National Park are all located here.

12. Linapacan Island, Palawan, Philippines

It’s not easy to get to this Philippine island with crystal clear waters, but those that make the journey are glad that they did. Due to the extent of the trip, visiting the Linapacan Islands proves a very private journey without many (if any) tourists to battle off.

Why are some water so clear and other waters more cloudy?

There are some factors that boost the appearance of blue: surface reflection of the sky, for instance and the color of the ocean bottom — if it’s white it will also tend to reflect the sky and amplify the blue of the water. And there are other factors that diminish blue: a gray sky, for instance, or the presence of other things in the water which absorb or scatter other colors, like algae, phosphorus, and stirred-up sand and so on.

So to have a really blue sea, what you need is depth, reflection and clarity. The same qualities come to think of it, that you’ll also hope to find in your own mind as you remember how to relax and enjoy the warm ocean breeze.

Regardless of the scientific reasons behind clear vs cloudy beach waters, clear water is certainly a beautiful sight to be seen–especially when you are not used to seeing it all of the time!
