A Spectacular And Funny Nuclear Chain Reaction Simulation! Wow!

'' I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand. '' Since this
Chinese proverb seems that the experiment because of the purposes it serves
is completely necessary to knowledge!

This is a fun and simple demonstration that will help you understand how a nuclear chain reaction occurs. It was used years ago in a Walt Disney film called Our Friend the Atom and appeals to all readers including the youngest and technically least sophisticated.

Watch to see a demonstration of how a nuclear reaction works using a matrix of ping-pong balls set on top of mouse traps. A team set up 2,014 mouse traps with ping pong balls on them. The following reaction is the best thing you'll see today.
Wow!
If you’ve ever tried making a chain reaction sequence with dominoes or marbles you’ll know just how frustrating they can be when they go wrong and how equally exciting they can be when they go right.

This can be a somewhat dangerous demo to set up. Some mousetraps are rather sensitive and can snap on your fingers. Wearing some gloves to protect your skin isn't a bad idea. Set the traps carefully. Children should not try to do this demo themselves.
