Hanging from great heights, fighting rough underwater currents, and crawling through incredibly tight spaces, Shone explores untouched locations and discovers otherworldly scenes. His fearlessness has allowed him to document beautifully rare places and bring them to the surface for the rest of us to explore.
Shone captures the most unique vantage points and the people in his photographs appear to be small specks in comparison to the massive land formations. The remote and unpredictable environments within some of the photographs will even make your heart race.
According to his bio, Shone has "photographed the ‘deepest’, ‘largest’, ‘longest’ cave systems known. He’s hung on a thin rope, photographing [more than 650 feet] above the floor in the world’s deepest natural shaft; explored the far ends of a [more than 110 mile] long cave system; and spent a continuous 94 hours underground, in order to photograph the first cave to hold the [more than half a mile] depth record."
