Recently,
photographer Angela Kelly and her 7-year-old son took advantage of a cold spell in Washington and went outside with some homemade bubble solution. As they blew bubbles, they soon discovered that at 16 degrees Fahrenheit (-9 Celsius) the tiny bubbles froze in the air and fell to the ground, shattering, but the larger bubbles would land on the ground whole and then freeze, creating extraordinary, ephemeral sculptures…
She says of the project, “The process was just a bit of fun, but at the end of it I had some amazing images.”…
